About the project
The World Synagogue Union connects synagogues around the world in a network for spreading Torah and Jewish life, and supports synagogue managers (gabbaim) in day-to-day work. The website had to serve several audiences: managers, communities and partners.
The approach
- A world map at the centre – member synagogues marked on a world map that shows the network’s reach at a glance.
- A centre for gabbaim – tools, guides and templates for running a synagogue, from a Torah dedication to the budget.
- Downloadable content – weekly Torah lessons, holiday kits and Zionist content for all ages.
- Simple membership – join and newsletter sign-up buttons throughout the site.
Takeaway
On a content-heavy organisational site, the architecture is the design. When every audience finds its way quickly, the organisation looks big and professional.
